ABOUT NEVADA

Working as a fitness professional for the past 16 years, I am passionate about creating movement classes and coaching for every kind of body. I grew up training as a dancer which gave me a deep love of movement, but it also created a lot of perfectionism that didn't always lend itself to a healthy balanced life. As I transitioned into a professional career as an actor, dancer, and singer I was called to subsequently pursue a parallel life as a teacher where I could explore bringing the healthy balance I was striving for myself to my students.  Since 2007, I have been certified with the BCRPA as a group fitness leader with specialties in Pilates Fitness, Pre/Post Natal, and Older Adult Fitness. I have been a certified Barre Fitness instructor since 2010 and have pursued personal exploration in a number of modalities including: Yamuna Body Rolling; The Melt Method;  Feldenkris; Alexander Technique; Yoga; Lucid Body; Authentic Movement and many more. I have taught people young and old and my best moments as a teacher come when I can facilitate my students to achieve their goals and discover physical options they never knew were possible. All while maintaining a relaxed and neutral mindset about their bodies and a healthy sense of humour about movement.

I take Nevada’s Pilates + Stretch + Roll class and I always leave the class feeling like I got the perfect amount of ‘work’ and relaxation. As a movement professional, I really appreciate Nevada’s use of imagery to make anatomical concepts easy to understand and apply.

I have been taking Nevada's studio classes for some time because she provides multiple options to decrease or increase intensity, she's fun and entertaining, and the rolling makes me feel amazing. Nevada's clear style and positive demeanor have translated well to the small screen on Zoom.
